In order to ensure that you are not “that wedding guest” we have compiled some frequently asked questions on what the proper etiquette is and how to not be a wedding faux pas. Do you have any tips on proper wedding etiquette? Be sure to comment below.

1. Do I still need to send an invitation if I know the guest can’t make it?

Because an invitation comes with the expectation of a gift, you don’t want people to think they have to give a gift even though they cannot attend. If someone lets you know that they have a conflict, don’t follow up with an invitation. In the case of very close friends and family, you may want to send an invitation anyway with a note that explains you are sending it as a keepsake.

2. Is It Okay to Use Mobile Devices to Upload Pictures During the Wedding?

A lot of couples this day and age have opted for “unplugged weddings” where they ask guests to please leave the photographs to the hired photographers. It is better to ask for permission. Uploading photos not only distracts you from participating in the moment, but it also broadcasts details of the event to people who may not have been invited.
