Austin Local Eats
With another installment of our Austin Local eats, we find two restaurants that are just now coming out of the woodworks. Our love of food and entrepreneurialism makes it that much more enjoyable to go out and try new local restaurants.
A new-coming restaurant hailing from the burgeoning east side of Austin features an eclectic menu of American comfort food with Tex-Mex, Asian and Southern flavors fused into the dishes. Complete with a casual setting, the bar is stocked with inventive craft cocktails like the Día de los Muertos, which includes mezcal, blood orange liquor, ancho reyes and grapefruit.
24 Diner chef Andrew Cullen is head of cuisine at Arro, a new French bistro located on West 6th Street. Becoming increasingly popular, it is best to get a reservation. The happy hour, or cinq a sept, is particularly busy fairing appetizers such as charcuterie, pomme frites, (French fries) cheeses and drinks at around $5-7 dollars each.
