Flash Back Friday: Meredith and Todd Nuptials

TGIF Crave Followers! We are going to take it back a couple of years on this Flash Back Friday to 2012. It was a beautiful day in May at Camp Lucy. The rustic venue was a perfect place for Meredith and Todd to exchange vows under the Texas sunset and dance the night away. The reception was a classic and simplistic, the venue lined with white candles and white floral centerpieces to match. The cake was a three-tiered white fondant cake with floral accents that tied the whole reception together. There were flower girls dressed in beige and white, ready to contribute to the lovely ceremony. As Meredith gracefully walked down the aisle, she wore an elegant lace embroidered dress and a single white flower in her hair.

Take a look at some of the catering menu, with appetizers including our spice beef empanadas, beef sliders, a fresh jicama salad and a specialty raspberry lemonade cocktail made with local Dripping Springs Vodka. We hope the lovely couple is doing well, cheer to Meredith and Todd!

Nuptials: Leslie and Brad | Old Glory Ranch

Leslie and Brad exchanged vows on a warm June Saturday at Old Glory Ranch. They were surrounded by family and friends on this sun-filled day and were treated to a wonderful array of food and drinks catered by Crave. Sweet and iced tea was served to cool the guests down on the summer day accompanied by a massive shrimp cocktail bar.

Capturing the event was Daniel Brod with Daniel C Photography, ceremony music by Musical Discovery Chamber Players, elegant cakes by Simon Lee Bakery, and dancing the night away to High Definition – orchestrated by OGR’s Kellye Bergen Grady w/Design by Sage. Stars shown bright as the couple departed through a tunnel of sparklers to cheers from their guests. Wishing them a very happy ever after!

Congratulations to Megan and Cameron! We had a blast at Camp Lucy , wishing the happy couple a life of wedded bliss and fabulous food! With beautifully set tables and gorgeous flowers from Alamo Plants and Petals encrusting every inch of space, we truly enjoyed cooking and serving some of our favorite dishes! Appetizers included Watermelon Mojito Popsicles, Crostini with Goat Cheese, Oven Dried Tomatoes and Balsamic Reduction, Stuffed Artichoke Bottoms with Gruyere and Mushrooms, and Spicy Beef Empanadas. What a hit the Watermelon Mojito Popsicles were in the Central Texas heat!

Table Settings

Under the open-air Alhambra Pavilion and Bar, we served the bride and groom’s signature cocktails: Strawberry Basil Margaritas and Hot Texas Muddlers (Titos Vodka, ginger beer, muddled with fresh jalapenos, cilantro, agave nectar and lemon). So delicious!

Cheese stations were set up with wheels and wedges of Triple Cream Brie, Manchego, Gouda and Gruyere, displayed on wooden cutting boards with sliced strawberries, fresh grapes, candied pecans and assorted crackers and toast points.

Crisp Iceberg Wedge Salads were served first, with fresh tomatoes, onions and bacon, drizzled with creamy blue cheese dressing.

One of the first courses included Boneless Braised Beef Short Ribs, Three Cheese Mac with Diced Tomatoes and Green Onions, Home-style Green Beans with Bacon and Rosemary Biscuits.

Shrimp and Grits station was next, with Three-cheese Grits, Spicy Shrimp, served in paprika-rimmed bolero glasses with your choice of toppings: bacon, sauteed onions, fresh tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms cheddar cheese and mini tabasco sauces. This station was one of our favorites!

Our Sage-Fried Chicken Tenders with choice of White Pepper Gravy or Bourbon-Maple Reduction were so popular! Glad we brought plenty of extras! We also displayed Sweet Potato French Fries in cones with Crave Sauce…yummy!

The bride and groom chose to have a Ladies Lounge Prosecco Bar with fresh-squeezed juices and fruit garnishes and a Men’s Lounge (Man Cave) with beer and wine. Talk about utilizing all of Camp Lucy’s space! We love this! It’s a great idea to keep your guests engaged and entertained!

We set up a s’mores fondue bar for the younger guests (and the young at heart)…melted chocolate, marshmallows, pretzel sticks, graham crackers, strawberries and peanut butter cups, all displayed in mini-galvanized tubs.

Laguna Gloria Wedding: Mikala and Danny

From the Crave Catering team, our very own Meredith Pollard was the event designer and planner for the beautiful nuptials of Mikala and Danny at Laguna Gloria. Although it was one of the coldest days we’ve had in Austin so far, the couple braved the cold and celebrated their love for each other with grace and beauty. We had such a lovely collaboration by all of the vendors, and send a warm congratulations to the newlyweds.

Flash Back Friday: Farver-Finnigan Wedding, One World Theatre

We had the pleasure of working with Jessica Farver and Connor Finnigan at their beautiful wedding at One World Theatre this past Saturday. With succulents encrusting the flower bouquets, tables and cake, Jessica and Connor’s special day was truly unique. The couple decided to have “dessert first,” which we LOVE here at Crave! Our Mini Blackberry Cobblers in tins with Vanilla Blue Bell Ice Cream were a hit.

Signature cocktails for the Bride and Groom were Tito’s Garden Party Vodka Cocktails and the classic Old Fashioned. Passed appetizers included Tomato Basil Soup Shots with Mini Grilled Three Cheese Sandwiches and Oysters Rockefeller.

We set up an outdoor grill station with our chef cooking Petite Salmon Fillets served with Creamy Artichoke Sauce and Tenderloin Fillets with Diane Sauce and Creamed Horseradish. Next stop was the Polenta Bar with selections of fresh toppings and a Salad Station with Caprese Salad, Mixed Field Green Salad and Balsamic and Dijon Mustard Veggies. We even had a late-night Breakfast Tacos with Salsa for guests to enjoy or take with them!

Nuptials: Stephen Colbert Helps Couple After Government Shutdown

October 10, 2013

In the midst of the government shutdown, the struggles in Congress have caused various problems outside of Washington. Nearly 24 couples in D.C. are furious that the shutdown has put a damper on their October weddings. More specifically, for engaged couple Mike Cassesso and MaiLien Le, their dream of tying the knot at the Jefferson memorial was thwarted by the closing of all U.S. National Park facilities.

This is where Stephen Colbert stepped in. Having promised he would take over any cancelled government services, he decided to host the wedding of a lifetime for them. Oh, Colbert you funny, funny man. Complete with bridesmaids, the groomsmen and a beautiful ceremony on set, even Smoky the Bear was in attendance (He didn’t have to go into work anyway). The backdrop displayed the Jefferson Memorial to keep Mike and MaiLien’s dream alive, and pre-vow shots were provided for all. We’d like to think that if he had picked a caterer for the reception, it would have been us.

Nuptials: Elsa And Chris

Family and friends gathered around an intimate setting as Elsa and Chris tied the knot on a lovely September evening. The small ceremony was set in the backyard of Chris’s childhood home, only adding to the romanticism in the air during the celebration.

Some delicious treats were served as the sun descended and sparklers ignited the night. There were an assortment of cobblers, including Strawberry Habañero and Goat Cheese, Blueberry Lemon Thyme, and Ginger Peach. Man were they perfect in the September breeze!

Nuptials: Megan and Josh wed at Camp Lucy

We would love to share some of the events we have had these past few weekends including the lovely nuptials of Megan and Josh that took place at Camp Lucy. Beautifully adorned and blessed with good weather, the couple made it down the aisle and were surrounded by smiles and love at this wonderful celebration.

Diana M. Lott Photography helped capture picture perfect moments throughout the festivities. The August heat was subdued with our Watermelon Mojito Popsicles, while the signature cocktails were a great success. Pink Margaritas, Pink Sangrias and delicious hors d’oevres completed the reception. The exceptionally stunning summer flower arrangements were provided by Alamo Plants and Petals that embellished the table settings as well as the rest of the venue.
